The aim of ICNAAM 2015 is to bring together the leading scientists of the international Numerical and Applied Mathematics community and to attract original research papers of very high quality. Simon Abraham from the VUB is presenting a paper on "Effect of geometrical uncertainties on the performance of heat exchangers using an efficient POD-based model reduction technique". An abstract of the paper can be downloaded here!
Adjoint based sensitivity computations can be applied in many fields of modern CFD such as: error estimation for adapted grid generation (EE), multidisciplinary optimization (MDO) and uncertainty quantification (UQ). The latter application in UQ is relatively new and few developments exist. The purpose of this lecture series is to bring together the researchers from these different communities, and to stimulate the common interest and exchange of knowhow in using the adjoint formulation.
Today, the EUFORIA project was launched with a kick off meeting. All partners were present at the VUB for the official start. More information can be found on the "Euforia Project" section.
